This medication is designed to help testosterone deficiencies, and to help relieve menopausal symptoms in breast cancer survivors with estrogen receptor positive tumors. Subcutaneous testosterone with anastrozole pellets have been shown to help relieve menopausal psychological complaints, such as depression and anxiety, hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and urogenital complaints.
The testosterone used in this medication is derived from plants and is bioidentical to endogenous hormones. Absorption occurs through uniform erosion of the pellet’s surface in correspondence to the solubility of testosterone and anastrozole in extracellular fluid.
